I have served in Lancaster ISD since 2002 as a counselor and assistant principal. I previously worked at West Main EL. School.
I retired from the Air Force in 1994 and moved to Texas from Anchorage, Alaska. I began teaching in Dallas ISD in the Troops to Teachers program. While in the Air Force, I found my passion in working with children by being a baseball and golf coach. This led me in becoming a teacher. A counselor I knew in Dallas ISD liked the way I communicated with children and suggested that I become a counselor. This suggestion led me back to college and to complete the counselor program at Dallas Baptist University.
When I am on my free time, I enjoy playing baseball and golf. I have played on an adult baseball league in Dallas and completed in the Adult Baseball Championship in Phoenix, AZ. Also, I have competed in the Golf Channel Amateur National Championship in Palm Springs, CA.
I love competition and teaching children in being both a good winner and a good loser. I have taught children how to play the game of Chess and the proper technique in winning and losing. In addition, I love teaching math and have tutored children on many occasions in this subject.
As a counselor, I enjoy helping children overcome any issues they may have that causes a detriment to their ability to learn. I help children in both group and individual counseling. Talking and helping children brings me lots of joy and satisfaction in helping them succeed.
